Dear Parents/Guardians & Friends:
Honor Roll, Spring Sports Awards and Senior Awards will be published on our Website on June 14.
Summer Office Hours: Monday through Thursday 9-1pm. We are closed June 30-July 11.
Volunteer Dinner on June 5 is postponed
Unfortunately, our Volunteer Dinner scheduled for June 5 has been
postponed due to this being just a very busy time of year for
everyone. We will try to schedule something this fall, perhaps
before a home football game! Thanks to everyone who volunteered
this year. Your assistance is greatly appreciated and noticed.
Benefactors Mass and Reception is June 28 at 3pm
On Saturday, June 28, all Fisher Catholic families and friends are
invited to a special Mass in our gymnasium to thank all of our
benefactors both past and present. Especially honored will the
single biggest donor in the history of Fisher Catholic, Mrs. Mary
Botta, St. Mary Class of 1928, who left us over $500,000 in her will
last summer. Half of this money has been placed in the foundation
and the other half has funded and will continue to fund badly needed
projects in our school, including the replacement of carpeting in our
classrooms with new tile, new heating equipment, new computer software
and other needs for out school.
On June 28
we will bless our new entrance which will be dedicated to Mary
Botta. We will also be officially blessing and naming our 100
Hallway as St. Mary Hall and our 300 Hallway as Bishop Fenwick Hall.
The Mass and blessings will be followed by a reception. We urge all members of our community, past, present and future to attend this historic and important event.

We will be processing Scrip orders during the summer at school every

Let’s make next year even better…..keep purchasing SCRIP.
Sports Physical is tomorrow
On Saturday, May 31 your child has an opportunity to get a free
physical this year which all students need in order to participate in
sports during the 2008-2009 school year. The physicals will be at
Ohio University Lancaster Gymnasium. Girls are asked to report at
8am and boys at 9:30. There is an OHSAA form which needs to be
filed out when the students come. These forms are available here
at school. Any questions call the school office. We will be
sending forms down to St. Mary for incoming students.
Track Athletes Advance
Congratulations to Katie Mauger who will be competing in the State
Track and Field Championship on Saturday, June 7 at Jesse Owens Field

Michael Wellner, Phillip Bowes, Joshua Eversman and Aaron Tobin will be
joining Katie next Saturday after the results of tonight’s
regional finals are concluded.

Please keep Kristen, Michael and Matthew Renard in your prayers.
Their Great-Grandmother passed away this week.
Principal Observations
As we end our last day of school for the 2007-2008 school year I know
that our Seniors and their families will be reflecting back on their
time here. In my role as President and Principal of Fisher, when
1:30 roles around today and your children leave for their summer
vacation I will already be hard at work on next year.
I am
enjoying my time here immensely. Although the tragedies that have
befallen our community this year have been difficult, the coming
together of the community has been spiritually uplifting and has led to
a definite deepening of my faith in God and His people.
It has
been a pleasure getting to know the students, faculty and staff,
parents and community at large here. Thank you for making me feel
welcome in my first year. I have learned a lot, and the knowledge
that I have come away with this year will help me to do a better job
next year.
For those
of you returning next year, you will see many, many changes in place
from the building to the school day, the curriculum, and school
uniforms. Student government and the new house system will be a
pervasive, positive influence on the students’ daily lives next
year. There are many changes that you will “feel”
next year as we work hard to increase harmony and spirit in the school
in all areas from academics to athletics to extracurricular. I
will be sorely disappointed, if, at this time next year the seeds of
planning that have been planted are not in full bloom and working
successfully on behalf of our students.
I have two
mantra’s that I carry with me, and I will continue to use them as
long as I am in this position. First, I can never please everyone
no matter how hard I try so I try instead to always do what is
right. Second, when making any decision I ask myself, does it
benefit the Fisher Catholic students as a whole? As a principal I
have made and will continue to make many decisions. These are the
guiding principles by which I am guided in my deliberations.
Again,
thanks for everything that you have done for this school. We owe
it to the students of 2008-2009 to work just as hard and with just as
much passion as we ever have. We also need new blood to replace
families who are graduating. There are some big shoes to fill
there, but I know that there are many, many talented adults in our
community who can step forward and contribute to the success of our
school.
Have a happy, safe and blessed summer!
Thank you for all that you do for your children and our school.

President/Principal
